ITINERARY
1:
This itinerary gives you the opportunity to get the different
and characteristic aspects of the morainic hills landscape: you
will find the wild woody northern side then the well kept orderly
southern side covered with orchards and vineyards, and the Po
Valley extending at the foot of the hills.
ITINERARY
2:
This is the itinerary running through the historical sites of
the Battle of Solferino and San Martino: it winds along the arrays
which met in the historical day of 24 June 1859. Old houses and
rural courts, witnesses of those events, stand isolated. From
the landscape point of view we can find wooded roads alternating
smooth sunny ups and downs in the heart of the morainic hills
of Mantova region.
ITINERARY 3:
The route runs along some towns characterised by the presence
of a castle partially rearranged in connection with the historical
events, dislocated in strategic positions between Lombardy and
Veneto regions. Exuberant nature and beautiful hills reach of
luxuriant and spontaneous vegetation, furrowed by the diversified
presence of rivers and small lakes, lead us to the discovery of
these places.
The most
important places for the experienced mountain bikers are the mountains
surrounding the lake. Particularly worthy of mention are the northern
lake areas among Arco and Torbole such as the tracks on Mount Brione,
the climbing up to Lake Ledro and for the most trained bikers Mount
Tremalzo with its breathtaking steep slope along the old military
road towards Limone. Thanks to the cableway service from Malcesine
to the peaks of Mount Baldo it is also possible to ride mountain
bikes at a high altitude with a lot of different opportunities.
Towards the southern end of the lake you can go by mountain bike
on the mountains between Maderno and Gardone Riviera. North of Gargnano
there are Mount Denervo and the Valvestino valley leading up to
Cima Rest, where you can admire the old haylofts recently restored
by the Alto Garda Bresciano Natural Park. Lake Garda hills offer
mountain bikers interesting routes in the morainic anphitheatre
area, among the provinces of Brescia, Mantova, Verona and along
the Mincio river.
